Gab,
This is what I did. Because I do a lot of computer work, my eyes have become very sensitive to light. I took two pair of glasses, one normal pair and one pair of glacier glasses. The glacier glasses are very dark and were a blessing to have at hight altitue and in the snow. Snow blindness was a concern of mine. My normal sunglasses are serengettis, and once I reached Manang, they weren't dark enough and I had to switch to my glacier glasses. I was very happy I had them, it would have been torture if I didn't have them. Although, I know not everyone takes two pair, so I would say that it depends on how sensitive you are to the light.

Incindently, when I had to switch to a darker pair of glasses, I also bought my guide a pair. Make sure they have some, it would be torture without them.

: Hi,

: I was wondering, what's the deal with sunglasses for high altitudes. Fair enough, they should cover the face to minimise any reflected light getting in your eyes, but what about the lenses? Mine (Bloc) have 100% UV protection, 85%-95% visible light absorption and 85%-97% blue light elimination (gives it a slight yellow tint).

: Should I go for something better? Any experience?

: Cheers,
: --Gab
