Hi, There are plenty of excellent places to stay in KTM and Pokhara.
If you want peace and quiet in KTM, and have the extra dosh, then I would suggest the KTM Guest House.
If money is more of a consideration, then the Potala Hotel (just round the corner) is very cheap, very clean, friendly and it is above street level. Though this place is a little noisy at night.
In Pokhara the Iceland Guest House, Lakeside is excellent. The staff are helpful and friendly and can arrange anything for you at good rates. There is a garden, it is off the main street, yet right in the middle of town.
They will also meet you and pay for your taxi ride from the bus station in Pokhara if you call them first to arrange it.
This is an advantage as this bus station in Pokhara is possibly one of the most stressful places on earth :)
If you decide not to stay there, after all, they will not be offended, but you will have to pay for your taxi.
