: Mouse,
: You are right about the day trips from KTM. I did a short 2 day trek along the Shiva Puri ridge just north of
: Kathmandu. It's not in any of the (other!) guidebooks. It had amazing views.
: Second thing - Mouse - please email me about your proposed Tibetan Regugee page -

: : Hia, You don't even have to do a trek.
: : There is so much to do and see and so much culture to absorb that you could just organise one day walks round KTM or Pokhara. Go to Chitwan National Park, go on a rafting trip (they have some quiet ones as well as wild ones, like the Seti River), these trips are actually a great way to see some of Nepals countryside.
: : You could spend a night on top of the Sarangkot (sp?) in pokhara and get up early to see the sunrise over the mountains (the walk down to the lake is about 4 hours and is stunning).
: : You could go and visit some of the 'out of the way temples' etc. There is a large new Buddhist temple which has almost finished being built, in Pokhara, over looking the valley... this is also a good half days trek up and down.

: : Lots and lots for you do do.
: : I could spend a month in Pokhara not doing anything at all except eating, playing pool, shopping and lazing about! - but then ... that's me :)
