Another thing to note

On my busride from Pokhara to Katmandu, on a tourist bus, some locals
were also coming on to our bus. They are given preferential treatment.
What happened in my case was that a rep for the particular tour company
takes your ticket at the bus pickup, you load your pack on top, then take
your seat. Two times (once to me and once to another passenger) the bus
driver and his entourage asked us to produce our ticket as proof that we
belonged on the particular bus. They actually said I would have to leave,
but I replied by saying, "You know full well that I gave you my ticket at
the beginning-I'm not going to put up with this." They eventually left me
alone.

Keep this in mind when you travel with these buses. You may want to travel
as a group to protect each other when the locals try to pull these kind of
maneuvers.
