: Kev, : flying in at KTM mid September, I asked the same question at someone in Nepal who arranged my flight on my trip last year. This is his answer: : ------------------------------ : The Lukla airport is : currently closed for upgrade work and schedule to remain closed until late : April. At the moment what the airlines is doing is they take passenger to : Lamidada or Phaplu (close airstrip from Lukla) in fixed wing airplane and : from there they have helicopter shuttle service to Lukla immediately or : hour : or so later..
