Hi
: I live in the rocky mountains of Alberta, Canada so I am not completely out of shape, but our mountains are no where near the size of everest. If you were to recommend a trek for a women on her own with some, but not extensive experience in the back country, which one would it be??
You will do just fine on any of the major tea house treks: Evererst, Annapurna circuit, or Langtang. You donīt have to be superfit when you start, but is a good idea to be in reasonable shape, you will walk 15 to 25 km per. The walking is not more strenuous than in Canada, in one regard it may even be easier namely in that you have small inns that are used to catering to foreigners all along the trekking route. So you have to carry next to nothing and can stop and have tea and biscuits or whatever when you feel you need a brake.
