: I have to agree with Menahem about the usefulness of trekking poles. I came back a few days ago, & I think I would not have completed the Circuit without my trekking pole. While most trekkers I saw with trekking poles had a pair of it, just one stick does equally fine. We rented our poles from a shop in Thamel for only Rs5 per day per pole, but they are those metal poles with a fixed length, but they did just fine.
