I dont believe Dengue fever is a problem in Nepal (unlike other parts of Asia). Certainly not a problem above 2000m. But it is a rising problem elsewhere in Asia, especially SE Asia.
It is passed on by mosquito bite.
Your main protection is avoiding the bite in the first place as there is no vaccine. The symptoms are headache, vomiting, nausea and muscle stiffness and ache. There are a number of different Dengue strains. You can take pain killers, but not aspirin as that can bring about complications. Basically you need to get to a hospital for blood tests and treatment.
