I will be in Delhi tommorow and I can only whish there is a wet season so rains would reduce temperatures. In fact it is dry, 42C or more for at least a month more.
Even wet season in Delhi is not very wet beside occasional short downpours. I spend quite some time in Delhi every year and malaria is not an issue there (but dengue is or at least was last year) therefore malaria prophylactic course is really a waste of time, money and health if you stay in Delhi just to get in/out of Ladakh.
Though it is worth spend extra money on AC room in Delhi in summer (which to be effective must be well sealed from outside including mosquitos).
