'Govt to enforce TRC soon' [ 2007-5-30 ]

Kathmandu, May 29: Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Prithvi Subba Gurung assured today the trekking agents that the government would implement the Trekking Registration Certificate (TRC) soon.
"The government is committed to resolving all the burning problems related to the trekking bus iness," said Minister Gurung.
He expressed the view while addressing a function organised by the Trekking Agencies' Association of Nepal (TAAN) to officially inaugurate its office building at Maligaon, Kathmandu.
"As trekking is an important part of the tourism industry, the ministry is working towards its further development and promotion," he said.
He said that the government would reduce royalties of the Upper Dolpo and Upper Mustang.
