What comes to trails both are runnable, easily, especially it that is your hobby.

On AC the height gain past Manang (3600m)is fast, at normal hiking pace you are at the foot of the pass in one day at 4600 m or something and over the 5400 m Thorong pass early the next morning. Thus there is not much time to develop AMS before you are down again at Muktinath 3800m.

EBC is a different matter, as the approach from Namche at 3600m to EBC at 5300m takes, at the normal pace, 4 days + safety days, 7 days in all usually. If a runner attempts to run to EBC in 1-2 days, there is a real risk (almost certain, actually) to develop AMS. And, as there is NO FAST ESCAPE, it is going to develop into HAPE and/or HACE. I have seen this happen already in Periche 4300m to a world class athlete (who later recovered and was in the winning Gauloises Raid team).

Running downhill from EBC after a slow and safe ascent is a better idea, how about taking part in the Everest marathon event?
