: No, they are not, for digicams. Their main purpose when shooting slides is to remove the blue cast that would be present otherwise, because of high content of UV radiation. In a digicam you can set white balance to "cloudy/shadow", which is meant to compensate for such blue cast. And in any case, you should do some post-processing of the images.

There is a good photo shop in Thamel, they have a range of "professional" equipment, you might check there. If you really need just a filter, there are good chances that the Thamel shop will have one.
