Dear Tom,

there are several airlines linking UK/Europe with Kathmandu.

Qatar Airways, very popular annd nearly daily conections to KTM, but goes over Doha, so it can be little longer. Good overallservice and reasonable costs.

Austrian Airlines, the fatstest connections directly from mid September to mid April via Vienna from all European AUA connections.

Thai Airways Intl. offers very good flight serrvices to Bangkok and onwards to Kathmandu (daily). So only the price and the longes (from Europe) flight route could be against them.

Pakistan and Biman offer cheap flights from London/Frankfurt and few other European cities to Kathmandu. Pakistan Airlines better overall service. Despite all, they both offer higher lugguage allowance (often abover 30 kg without problems). A bit lengthy in the flight routes, they are definately worth for long time travels and lowe bugdet for flight cost.

Otherwise all major european airlines offer flights via Delhi and from there then with local partners (Jet Airways, Sahara and others) to Kathmandu. In This case be reminded that in Delhi without Visa you can't leave the airport and therefore you have to sleep in the airport (which depending on flight schedule) can be very tiring.

Hope this helps somewhat.

Anyone

: Am based in Newcastle and fancy doing a trek in october with three friends.
: We heard that you can fly from Schipol which would suit us,but I cant seem to find anything on expedia.
: Does anyone know if there is a flight?
: Also saw a flight from Vienna-does anyone know if that is a direct flight?
: We dont wish to go to London because of the threat, and wish to fly from Europe.
