1)Because the Cho La traverse is easier in this direction.The Dzong La lodge,on the east side of the pass,is just a short way from the pass,much closer than the lodge on the west side of the pass.However a west to east traverse is also possible.
2)A second reason is that the views of the Everest group should be seen in the order:Kalla Patar first,Gokyo Peak second.But this is just my personal feeling.Some probably have a different opnion.
