Although red in tooth and claw myself I would follow what these postings have said about trying to follow a non meat diet, espcially away from the city areas. Firstly veg and beans etc are always well cooked (Plenty of people get gut rot from under done meat that has probably gone a few days with out a fridge ) Secondly I have never forgoten one family who apologised for having no eggs for breakfast .....A large trekking group had passed trough and all demanded chicken curry No chickens and no eggs untill the "chicken man" came in a few days or over a week depending on things. There were several kiddies in that household that would now go with out protein. Leave the stuff on the hoof and on the wing where it can lay eggs and give milk to those that need it.If you must eat meat at least take care to check that when you do eat others wont go with out.
