This will be my 5th trek, but the first time in India. I have done a tent trek only once, last year in the cordillera blanca and I must say that was quiete luxurious (we travelled with a guide, an arriero + one horse and two customers, the food was much better than in most restaurants there). But living on vegetables, rice and dhal will be no prob for me.
So I think I will do it as kolobar suggested and try to hire a tent+matress at an agency that has a partner in Keylong or Manali. If I can not find one, then I will have to use an agency. And I will buy a stove in Leh.
Thanks for your support, preparing to travel is almost as exciting as doing it....
