Across Zanskar

I want to do the Across Zanskar Trek (Lamayuru-Padum-Darcha) in September this year and am wondering where I should organize it. I would prefer going to Lamayuru, look out for a ponyman from Zanskar there and buy the food in the local shops nearby. But it is quiete late in the year and harvest season will begin then. Do you think I can rely on finding one at that time (I have no problem waiting 2 or 3 days in Lamayuru) ? Or is it better to organize everything in Leh ?
