Mera Peak and beyond.....

Hi all,

Well after 4 Nepal treks now, I have decided to move up one stage and start actually climbing some of those mountains I have up until now only stared at longingly.

Am climbing Mera Peak in December with a mate of mine from the UK. Planning to do the TMC (Technical Mountaineering Course) with Alpine Guides based in New Zealand before Mera , and then the Advanced Alpine course the year after, with the eventual goal of moving up the ranks to something a little more serious than Mera, (Ama Dablam ?) then on to an 8000-er ! (Cho Oyu ?), but that's a good 3 or 4 years away at least. The goal is Everest one day, but will cross that bridge if and when I come to it.

Will write a little report here if there is anyone interested to know all about the course with Alpine (among the best anywhere by all accounts) and about Mera as well, come December...

Has anyone here climbed Mera before ? Would love to hear your feedback !
