While the day ended up being a long one, we were still happy to make the journey by bus as we were keen to take at least one local bus ride (we'd taxiied in to Naya Pul at the start).
Although it was a long way, we still got a lot out of it and wouldn't swap the busride for quids (from the video-cameraing selfish Israeli tourist to the entire bus looking at and discussing on the Xray of a broken upper-arm of an 8 year old Nepali who rode in the front on his way to Pokhara hospital).
The road between Beni and Galeshor is on the opposite side of the river to the walking track. And it's down close to the river at about the same height. I don't remember a final steep climb to Beni at the end although maybe there was some slope....there were the usual yak-trains although they use the road now.
