The rate of exchange varies but seems to hover around 74 to 77 rupees per US dollar. There are about 6 ATM's. Several in Thamel near and at the kathmandu Guest House. Withdrawals are limited on your end by the set up of your bank card. They are usually limited so that if you loose your card or are a victim of fraud they can't clean your card out instantly.

: Are there in KTM reliable cash machines, to draw local money? Any sum restrictions? I would prefer not to bring in foreign cash.
