Thanks for the reply. We actually took the S45 to New Zealand and realised the overnight low tempertures while we were treking was causing major melt down on the battery so proceeded to sleep with it!! and carry the spare in our pocket for body warmth which seem to help the situation.
Guess Ill risk it on the AC and hope we can recharge at some point (?) Do you think the auto will be ok with the glare or should I study up on the whitebalance? - really have trouble coming to grips with the concept.

Your Zermat photos are great. We were there 3 years ago just overnight and lucked out with the most amazing weather and spectacular views of the Matterhorn on the day we spent there... but would you believe that we actaully wandered onto the wrong lift and ended up at Klein Matterhorn with no film in my camera - still gives me nightmares thinking about it! (pre digital days)
So needless to say I loved looking at the photos YOU took -
