I too had a dog that followed me for half a day on the AC. Nice dog, no problems.

: I had a dog latch on to me and stay with me for the entire day on the last part of the walk up to the Annapurna Sanctuary. It was December and rather cold, so I let him in my room and he laid down and slept the night. Another trekking couple gave him a bite to eat the next day, and he stuck with them. I think the dog made his living walking with trekkers on the trail...
