A word of advice about Giardia, and the medication they provide in Australia before you travel... I picked up giardia (confirmed by later tests in Kathmandu), and was prepared to take the Fasigyn that my Australian doctor had prescribed. However, the Kathmandu clinic said the dosage provided was next to useless - he recommended around TRIPLE the dose to really knock the bug on the head! Next time, I'll be taking a few extra packs - or buying up on Fasigyn in Kathmandu!
