I may do that. I have some suggestions from friends for meditation centers around Kathmandu, and one in Pokhara too. Interesting that you mentioned Seagal. Was discussing him with some people at a recent weekend retreat -- he has been recognized as the reincarnation (tulku) of a 17th century Buddhist teacher from eastern Tibet. That ceremony you were at may have been part of his formal recognition. What tea do you speak of? Where was the ceremony at? Many of the ritualistic aspects of Buddhism haven't really been carried over to the West, mainly just the bare-bones world view and meditative pratice. I'm looking forward to having my ego slain in the abode of snows. Cheers.

: Chris, I'm surprised, as a buddhist, that you are not going to spend more time in the company of Lamas ? I have an interest in buddhism and have had some fascinating experiences around Kathmandu. I went to a ceremony (at which Steven Segal was getting blessed or something) sat right at the front. It was amazing. 4 hours crammed on a mat with loads of monks who only speak Tibettan and Nepali. It was a really respectful but happy atmosphere. Except I cannot stand the tea! UGG>>!!!
