It will be hard to go slowly because every morning you will see the excited rush to off to new place, very hard to resist. Imagine how it feels to Nepalis who get a fleeting glimpse of hikers and there is no time to really make a connection. So, if you can slow down you will find you get a great reaction out of the people you will stay with and then they will be interested to show you things and take you to little places around the corner. For women travellers it can be especially interesting as you can strike up good friendships with the women who run the lodges and have fascinating conversations with them. I took one month the first time I went, the hardest part was coming back to Pokara and even worse Kathmandhu. I hadn't heard an engine in so long.
Also, it is quite hard after you finish a trek to throw yourself into another one. Your body needs a bit of care and attention and long hard hiking. The Annapurna trek has so much in it that if you can take your time and explore you will get much more out of it and much better knees.
Good tip. Fly to Sri Lanka when you have finished!
