: There was a major mapping project for Nepal that was started about 12 years ago and should be just about finished by now. The whole country was aereally photographed, mapped and 1:50000 topos printed.
Splendid, weŽll have to get some next time we get to Nepal. Sometimes we feel like going, if only to see our friends and tell them how sad we are for the general mess, but IŽm afraid it will be quite a while. Would like to trek in the areas north of Manaslu and Dhaulagiri but at the moment it seems hopeless.
