LOUD Israelis

My guide, and several people(Nepalese) I met along the way corroborated this view. In 2000 I remember a group of Israelis being thrown out of a hotel; that was the first I had heard of arrogant, loud Israelis but apparently it is the norm as many people I have spoken to have echoed this.
And while in Dunche this past April, I saw a group of Israelis forcing down the daily price of the porters and even telling them what they will and will not eat along the way. I felt bad for the Nepalis at their mercy and disgusted at the behavior I was witnessing, knowing I was unable to do anything to change it.
I agree with Dano that it is individuals, not nationalities, which matter, but I have seen numerous accounts on my own of terrible behavior on the part of Israelis in Nepal.
In 2000 in Jomsom we met a lone woman trekker and we all started talking about our experiences in Nepal. She asked us what we thought of Israeli travelers we saw. I thought the question was rather odd as it changed the discussion to a large extent. Turns out that she was an Israeli who was ashamed at the behavior she herself was witness to. She was one of the nicest people I have ever met along the trail.
