Everst east face, Kangshung, is in Tibet, You have to trek up the Kama valley. The monsoon should be tolerable but the Chinese are likely to stop You unless you travel with the CITS, an awful goverment travel agency.

: Hello everybody:
: I have just make up my mind to trek upto the Everest East face basecamp in JULY this year. I know it is the moonsoon time, but I have no choice. Can anybody here say a word or two about the possible weather conditions? I plan to hire a guide and a yak to help me carry the backpack and tripod. If time permitted, I may also try the Lapchi prilgrim to the Rongsar valley.
: Or should I forget it and try somewhere else?
: Any info is appreciated.
: Regards
: Kevin
