It cost me 616 Rupees to stay at the Thorung Peak Hotel and Lodge at Yak Karka. In 1997 there were 90 Rupees to the UK Pound. Total cost was about GB Pounds 7, or about US$10. The higher you go, the more expensive it gets. Note that the room is only around 10% of the total cost. Judging by the healthy amount I ate at Yak Kharka, 4,150 metres, I was definitely not suffering from altitude sickness. I also had coffee and cakes at the Gangapurna Hotel and Lodge next door. This is typical of what I ate along the Annapurna Circuit.
