Annapurna III 7,555 metres

Annapurna III is at the centre of this picture, taken from the North West near to Thorung Phedi.

Annapurna III was first ascended by a route from the Marsyandi valley. The route follows the Sabche Khola south from the Marsyandi Valley from its confluence just west up the valley from Hongde (visited on Day 6 of the Annapurna Circuit). The route then ascends the North East glacier and icefall.to the col visible on the picture on the left.

This is Annpaurna III from the Annapurna Sanctuary, viewed from just below Annapurna Base Camp.	The second ascent of Annapurna III was in 1970 by a Japanese ladies expedition by a route from the Annapurna Sanctuary.
