That young Manangi thug assistant manager, the one behind the counter with the tough look on his face, was involved with the slaying of an Italian tourist at the former Reggae Pub a few years ago. We have found you, and we are coming to see you. Sleep well, viva Italia

Always head for the Tenki...a most pleasant place to stay. Clean, comfortable and value for money. Close to heart of Thamel. It's head and shoulders above other places I've stayed...I love the early mornings and evenings on the rooftop garden.

The owner/manager of this hotel is Palsang Gurung. He is very good friends with Shashi Tuladhar who runs the Hotel Star. This man continually brags about being a millionaire. He is involved in prostitution and is heavily involved in the mafia/gangs in Nepal. Shashi Tuladhar runs various scams for travellers' money and gives part of the money to his protection...Palsang Gurung. It is one thing to stay at their hotels....but DO NOT get involved personally with these people as they are very dangerous. This is reflected in an earlier comment from someone else. below is the complaint i filed against Hotel Star. Shashi Tuladhar stole a $610 ticket refund from me and I have no recourse. ------------------------------------ The owner/manager of this guest house is named Shashi Tuladhar. his email is nirvanachch@hotmail.com or shashktm@hotmail.com This man is a crook/thief. He "helped" me buy an air ticket to Bangkok which was unusable. When i tried to get a refund....they would not let me. So I had to let him get the refund. Then he refused to give me my money....saying that the travel agency was responsible. But the travel agency sent me to him. I have heard that he runs verious schemes like this to separate travellers from their money. If you ever stay at this guest house.....DO NOT let this guy help you out in any way. you will regret it. I still have not gotten my $610 US.

I am a resident of Mumbai India. I just saw the name of the owner of Hotel Star alleging that he is of dubious character. I had been to Kathmandu and stayed at Hotel Star for about 10 days and came to know him as the owner of that hotel. When I needed help to expedite my return to Mumbai he was very helpful and arranged to get my ticket preponed. I have not kept in touch with the hotel since then but given a choice I would love to stay at that hotel.

The bad reputation of this place is beginning to catch up with it. Getting run down and the staff is unhelpful and almost threatening. Shady local characters are always coming in and out at all hours of the day. For your safety, I would not recommend staying here.

stayed at Tibet Holiday Inn with my sister Gayatri and we had a lovely time...its a quiet, peaceful, safe and clean place to stay in. the staff were very helpful and friendly and we totally enjoyed our stay there. the best part of it was that we got a whopping 60% discount on the regular tariff as it was off-season for tourists! will definitely stay here again, next time im here!

The Tibet Holiday Inn Hotel is very nice. I stayed this hotel with my wife. We enjoyed alot and there is good facilities ane the location uis very prime. Especially, Japanese Tourist can stay with resonable price. Soushi Japan

nice hotel..safe and friendly staffs. the food in the restaurant is nice n having a good facilities..worth staying coz nearby shops around....
