Began today's hike on the Bibbulmun Track with a 7 kilometre beach walk which includes some wading at the mouth of Torbay Inlet (3.5 kilometres). Ascend up to the Mutton Bird Car Park to enjoy the view as you momentarily leave the coast for around 3 kilometres. The last 3 kilometres is coastal - roller coastal!

Started this morning at 5:30 am with an early morning fish off the rock, then beach, but no luck.

Moist area meant that I needed time to let the sun dry out my tent. Beautiful morning so I had a swim then set my mind to the path ahead. Crossed the mouth of the Torbay Inlet no worries (thigh high) then watched guys surfing at Mutton Bird Beach. Departed beach soon after the sand hills heading towards large wind generators near Hidden Valley Campsite. Arriving at 12:40 pm I had time to organize gear, write, play harmonica and drink tea. Time to reflect also on a memorable trip as tonight is, alas, my last on the Bibbulmun Track. Tomorrow I hit Albany on Melbourne cup day, can't wait to see my kids in about 1 week. Left my signed 5mm sleeping mat for fellow weary travelers!
