Day 54 Denmark to Nuilaki and on to West Cape Howe |
After making your way to Pelican Point by car or boat, it's a flat 9 kilometre stroll skirting the bay to Nullaki, also known as "Mozzaki" if the mossies are biting. The extra 16.5 kilometres to West Cape Howe is worth it to get away from them. Great coastal hiking, not too hilly, however, no shade or shelter from the sun. Some brilliant sights again today! |

![]() This morning I left Blue Wren Backpackers at 8 am and walked 2 kilometres for my boat ride across the inlet. John dropped me off at Pelican Point, lovely 9 kilometre walk along inlet to Nullaki Camp site. Nullaki turned out to be infested with killer mozzies so I left at 1pm for West Cape Howe campsite, a further 16.5 kilometres away. Had a swim where Bibbulmun Track passed near the coast. It was a lovely beach and would be a great place to learn surfing with a long wade-out to breakers. Very little swell today but lovely blue sky and blue ocean. Saw a wicked dugite [Editor's note - a species of Aussie snake] today, plus the biggest kangaroo that I have ever seen. This thing had muscles, a steroid monster. Arrived at West Cape Howe at 6pm and surprisingly it rained soon after. Over 900 kilometres mark now with just 60 kilometres left to go! ![]() ![]() ![]() |
