Time (excluding rests)

6 hours 45 minutes

Distance

22.7 kilometres

After 4 or 5 kilometres of coastal walking, you head inland for the crossing of the Lewin Inlet. This is done using the canoes you will find available in a shed.

Many short, steep dunes to climb makes for a very challenging 23 kilometres. Area around Quarram Nature Reserve is both unique and interesting. The remainder of today's walk is rugged coastline.

The canoes used to cross Irwin Inlet

Left Peaceful Bay at 9am, big day ahead, 23 kilometres. Had to canoe across Irwin Inlet, which was fun. I went across three times as I towed another canoe back across. Some beach walking required today, but mostly up and over dunes. Saw some snakes and kangaroos today, plus awesome coastal views. It's getting easy to walk 20 kilometres now as I well and truly have my walking legs now. The rain held off until 7 pm (I arrived at 3:45 pm).

Nice bay just down from the campsite and I tried some fishing again with pasta, but no luck. Slipped and landed on my coccyx bone (ouch!) bumma dude! Alone again tonight, but it will soon all be over. Must stay focused and live one day at a time. Swallow's nest in the hut!
