Day 47 Franklin River to Giants to Rame Head |
Easy 13.7 kilometres walk through to Giants Campsite, however, at 12 kilometres, you pass the entrance to the popular Treetop Walk. Allow time to explore and enjoy the sights. 15.6 kilometres to Rame Head is diverse, again taking you from tall forest to the rugged coast of Conspicuous Beach. The last two kilometres to Rame Head includes a challenging slog up sand dunes. |

![]() Set off early and hit the top walk about 10:30am. Nice bouncy walk among the trees. Met a group of nice young Japanese. They though I was "Crazy Aussie", walking all the way from Perth. As I was about to leave, Delia was waiting out front for me and introduced herself. We boiled the billy, had a chat for an hour, then left for Giants camp site 2 kilometres away. After lunch at Giants, I decided to move on, but not before bumping into Ce and Chris who I had met a few weeks back out of Collie. I had inspired Chris to buy a harmonica! After another chat, it was on to Conspicuous Bay. Arriving there at sunset I was able to take some magic photographs. Decided to press on through dunes and darkness to Rame Head some three and a half kilometers away. Arrived at 7:40pm tired, but content, after another double hut episode. ![]() |
