Day 3 Waalegh to Mount Dale |
First 8.5 kilometres of the Bibbulmun Track to Beraking Campsite is relatively level with many valley views to enjoy. Next 11.4 kilometres to Mount Dale is more challenging, however, with many wonderful sights to behold. |

![]() Wet day again as we head off for Beraking Hut (lunch stop). Easiest section yet, as we walk along the plateau. Do 8 kilometres in 2 hours. Morgan finds plastic sheet and converts it into a poncho. "Praise God for Provisions" The 11.5km from Beraking to Mount Dale, however was huge! Lovely peaks, valleys, pine forests, wild flowers and heaps of rain. With good poncho, I don't mind rain. Morgan and I have decided not to walk together as we like the freedom of going solo. Morgan placed arrows made from sticks to help me find the right way. The 'Waugals' that mark the way are a bit spaced out, which is confusing at times. Was totally knackered again arriving at the campsite with thighs and knees screaming. The hut is surrounded by clusters of mature 'blackboys' [Ed - an Australian native plant with a politically incorrect name]. Dean from Sawyers Valley is in the hut also, but he's heading north. He will try and grab the book for me that I left at hut (Cath's present!) Cold tonight. Asian noodles - yummy. |
