Day 24 Grimwade to Balingup |
Cross over three roads in the first 7 kilometres, then follow a creek for while soon after. Very steep descent down to the Balingup Brook Bridge (18 kilometres) then a lovely flat 4 kilometres into the very picturesque town of Balingup. Attractive streams and valleys. |

![]() Left early 7:30am and gave the hut a good rake and dusting down. Perfect weather made walking a real treat. Had a nice lunch break after 13 km overlooking rolling green meadows, which were nice to see after weeks of bush. Going down steep hill was a slippery challenge, breaking my walking stick as I nearly rolled an ankle. Footbridge had just been creosoted. It was a delightful final 3 kilometres into Balingup. Balingup is a quaint town picture perfect. Booked in at backpacker hostel near the post office, Noola and Andrew most helpful. Had to check out winery and craft shop. Bought 6 old fashioned post cards then treated myself to a hot shower, Tim Tams [Australian chocolate biscuit] and television. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
