Day 23 Noggerup to Grimwade |
After about 10 kilometres you hit virgin jarrah forest, which is about as good as it gets these days. Pleasant walk along the Bibbulmun Track with the last 6 kilometres after Preston Road a bit of a slog through to Grimwade. Peaceful campsite perched near a creek with many varieties of birds to sing along with. |

![]() Left Noggerup at 8:30am with most of today's walk flatish. Passed through lovely sections with creeks, peppermint trees, and clusters of blackboys. Virgin jarrah section was a bit of a let down, but I have a one hour lunch break anyway! It rained, was sunny, then rained again during my lunch break. Arrived at Grimwade at 3:30pm and read a 3 day old West Australian newspaper, the visitors book, and collected lots of firewood. A lady, Karen, and her three kids popped in to check out the hut. It seems I will be inundated by scouts during the school holidays. Had a lovely dinner of rice, Alfredo, peas and corn, washed down with a cuppa. Starry night with a quarter moon, plenty of bird life around. Had a nice sing lying on a log, not a soul in sight! [Editor's note, courtesy of the author's Mum - Alfredo is pasta in packet to which one adds hot water and milk to make a hearty snack.] ![]() |
