Take the 2.7 kilometre spur trail west of Collie to arrive back on the Bibbulmun Track. Head south towards the Collie River and the Mungallup Dam (10.5 kilometres). The walk through the state forest is mildly undulating with no serious hills to climb. No swimming is permitted in the Mungallup Dam.

Chris and CE - "Doing it tough"

Left luxuries of Collie at 7:30am with a heavier pack, but refreshed body. Nice walk alongside Collie River and stopped for a walk at Mungalup Dam. Arrived at Yabberup at 1pm then collected wood and did some reading. Nodded off when I was awoken by 2 hikers Chris and Ce. Half an hour later 3 ladies walked in also Penny, Marita and Peta, so I moved to the top bunk above Chris and Ce. Nice company and we all chatted, told jokes and shared mind puzzles. Was toasty warm that night, as temperature less extreme. My beard is coming along, and who knows I may grow to like it. Penny liked my Cinderella joke. I gave them my full repertoire. Another hut with woodchips on the ground inside and outside which means it's less dusty.

[Editor's note , courtesy of the author's Mum - the "Cinderella joke" is reproduced here for important reasons of completeness of this online guidebook. Question - Why isn't Cinderella any good at football? Answer 1 - She runs away from the ball... Answer 2 - She's got a pumpkin for a coach...]
