Day 2 Ball Creek to Waalegh |
Today's section of the Bibbulmun Track is very undulating. Terrain is like a roller-coaster, lots of ups and downs. The bush is diverse with wandoo woodlands, slabs of granite and jarrah and marri trees. |

![]() Up at 6:30 am and on the road by 8am. After 3 kilometres of brisk walking I was stuffed. I let Morgan go on ahead to enjoy the walk at own pace. Very undulating. Arrived at Helena Campsite at 10:45 am for lunch. Spectacular views from hut of the valley. About 17 kids from Meredin High School turned up and one of the leaders gave me a Freddo Frog (yum) [Editors note - a "Freddo Frog" is a chocolate bar]. The 10 kilometres from Helena to Wallegh was real tough and it took me about 4 hours. Daydreaming, I missed the Waugal turning and as a result did an extra 1.5 kilometres. Full moon tonight. Waalegh is like Helena Campsite with great valley views. Things I've off loaded - spaghetti - spaghetti sauce, deodorant, book, sun-cream, sunglasses, rope and pegs. Have runny poo, sore, but content. God is good. No rain, nappy rash, left jocks in forest (hee, hee). |
